Backemeyer continues to build support in Nebraska’s First Congressional District

Lincoln, NE — Today, Chris Backemeyer, Democratic candidate for Congress in Nebraska’s first district, released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a three-year extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax cuts to lower premiums for over 30,000 Nebraskans in CD1. 17 Republicans joined Democrats in voting for the bill. Rep. Mike Flood was not one of them.

“This bipartisan vote is an important win and now the Senate must act quickly so families can get the relief they need.

“What’s disappointing is that Mike Flood had an opportunity to stand with Nebraska’s families and fix this problem. Instead, he decided to ignore the needs of working people.”
