Lincoln, NE — Today, Democratic candidate for Nebraska’s First Congressional District Chris Backemeyer received the endorsement of U.S. Senator Andy Kim (D-New Jersey). Senator Kim is a leader in the U.S. Senate, fighting to lower costs for working families, strengthen our national security, and root out corporate influence in our politics. His support underscores the growing momentum behind Backemeyer’s candidacy and the potential to flip this seat for Democrats.

Senator Kim and Backemeyer previously worked together at the White House National Security Council, where Kim served as Director for Iraq and Backemeyer served as Director for Iran.

Now, he’s running for Congress to serve the state that shaped him, fighting for working families, expanding opportunity, and building a better future for all Nebraskans.
